THE PROPHECIES OF KING DAVID
FULFILLED BY KING JESUS...THE SON OF GOD

King David was born around 1000 BCE.  At the age of 30 David was anointed to be the King of Israel (2 Samuel 5:1-5).  David was also anointed by God to be a prophet.

Inspired by God, David foretold the coming of Jesus.  He put in writing some of the events that would take place in the life of Jesus during the short time Jesus would be here on earth.  David's prophecies about Jesus were written about one thousand years before Jesus was born.

In the Gospel of Luke, after Jesus had been raised from the dead, Jesus talked with His disciples about the things that had to be fulfilled that were written about Him.

As it is written:

Luke 24:44
And He said to them, these are the words which I spoke to you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms concerning Me.

The following scriptures are prophecies that were written by King David in the Psalms, and fulfilled by King Jesus, the Son of God.

44 The Lord said to my Lord, sit here on my right hand, until I make your enemies your footstool?

Prophecy Fulfilled
16 And He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up: and, as His custom was, He went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up to read.
17 And there was delivered to Him the scroll of the prophet Esaias.  And when He had opened the scroll, He found the place where it was written:

18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,
19 to preach the acceptable year of the Lord.

20 And He closed the scroll, and He gave it again to the minister, and sat down.  And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on Him.

12 Many bulls have compassed Me: strong bulls of Bashan have beset Me round.

15 My strength is dried up like a potsherd; and My tongue cleaves to My jaws; and You have brought Me to the dust of death.

16 For dogs have compassed Me: the assembly of the wicked have enclosed Me: they pierced My hands and My feet.
17 I may tell all My bones: they look and stare upon Me.
18 They part My garments among them and cast lots upon My vesture [clothes].

The Prince of Peace.
